What happened to your ear

A man goes to the doctor with a big bandage over both ears.

"What happened to your ear?" the doctor asks.

"I was ironing my shirt and the phone rang," the man says.

"And what happened to the other ear?"

"Just as I put the iron down, the phone rang again."
